MISSION STATEMENT

Wayne Valley High School serves an increasingly diverse suburban population by offering a comprehensive education.  Our goal is to inspire individual success by creating a safe educational environment that promotes tolerance and respect for others while finding the best in ourselves.  By working together with a concerned and dedicated community, we provide students with the educational means to reach their goals.

COMMUNITY

Wayne is located approximately 20 miles west of New York City in the rapidly expanding metropolitan area. In 1950, it was largely a rural community with a population numbering 12,000 and covering a 25 square mile area. Presently, the population increased to more than 50,000 persons. Wayne has met its educational demands by building nine elementary schools, three middle schools, and two senior high schools.

SCHOOL

Wayne Valley High School, which opened in September 1952, is a comprehensive high school, accredited by the Middle States Association of College and Secondary Schools and the New Jersey Department of Education. Wayne Valley is a highly competitive high school which offers students a comprehensive curriculum. Students may select courses in the curricular areas of college preparatory, occupational/career training or secretarial/ business. Students preparing for college are advised to complete four units of English, three of Social Studies, three of Foreign Language, three of Mathematics, three of Science and three additional electives.


VISITORS

Students may not bring visitors to school. Only professional people and parent/guardians will be given permission to visit the high schools. All visitors must report to the Principal’s Office for clearance and approval
